Every Last One Rescue
Women-founded and run completely by volunteers, Every Last One is a foster-based nonprofit dedicated to saving NYC’s most vulnerable dogs – giving every last one a second chance at life.
They work exclusively with the Animal Centers of NYC (ACC) focusing on pups at immediate risk of euthanasia. Since launching in 2024, their mission has been rooted in the belief that every dog deserves a chance at life, safety, and love.

Second Chance Rescue
Serving NYC and the surrounding areas, Second Chance Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was established in 2009. With the help of their community of donors and supporters, they have saved over 16,000 lives from an unimaginable fate. Their efforts are concentrated on saving large breed dogs and cats who need critical life-saving care. These two criteria make up most of the euthanasias in the United States.
9/10 animals that enter NYC Second Chance Rescue were once set to be euthanized at a municipal shelter.

Operation Paws for Homes
Located in the Washington, DC metro area, Operation Paws for Homes is a nonprofit, volunteer-powered 501(c)3 rescue dedicated to saving dogs and cats from overcrowded shelters where time has run out.
They rescue animals from high-risk shelters across the southern U.S. and internationally, placing them into loving foster homes while they wait for their forever families. Thanks to their dedicated fosters, volunteers, and donors, OPH saves over 1,000 lives every year.

Animal House Shelter
Based in Huntley, IL, a suburb of Chicago, Animal House Shelter is a non-profit, no-kill 501(c)3 shelter for all breeds of dogs and cats.
They rescue, care for, and find home for pets suffering from abuse, abandonment, or neglect, and save those who are scheduled for euthanasia. Their goal is always to find loving, stable, homes for the animals in their care, and have saved over 75,000 since opening in 2002!
